Still waiting on Bogey's allergy testing results

Well, Monday was 2 weeks and we're still waiting on the results from Bogey's allergy labs. I called the vet and he said they haven't received the results back yet and it could be another week.  So, in the meantime, she's still gnawing on her toes.  Oh well, what's new?  So, we wait ! ! ! The only saving grace is that I know there's a solution (hopefully) coming soon.

I'm sorry it's taking so long and she's still itching. Jessie's flare ups have stopped and she's doing much better; my vet said all his allergy dogs were "going crazy" at the time Jessie was having trouble. Maybe you could try ;putting dog boots or something else on her feet to keep her from chewing them when you can't watch her; I used to have to do that for Jessie when she had foot infections. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you hear something soon. I checked my favorite allergy site and there isn't any pollen in the air at all where you live, so maybe Bogey's allergic to mold and /or dust mites? Jessie is extremely allergic to dust mites and used to have a terrible time in the fall because our indoor humidity would go up and there would be more dust mites but since the shots it hasn't been a problem. If Bogey is allergic to dust mites it would help if you kept her out of the bedrooms because they live in mattresses; may be something to try while you're waiting for the results. Have you tried an allergy diet like Natural Balance Duck and Potato yet; about 50% of Jessie's itching was due to a food allergy.

Gosh I hope it comes soon...It seems like forever ago you posted that Bogey was having the test.  let us know what the results were.

Also...not sure if you can scan the test results in to the computer it or not, but I found it very helpful on a greyhound forum when someone posted their results for others to see...it was REALLY interesting!

    Wishing you results soon! [sm=proud.gif]

thanks for all your thoughts. I started a new post with her results - please read it.  I don't know how to scan info. into otherwise I sure would.  It is really interesting. Seems like about 50% of her itching is due to food allergies, too. We did try duck before the lamb and rice and within about 5 minutes after eating it, her belly, and ears turned bright red - so we won't go there again. But she's been eating lamb and rice and come to find out ONE of her MANY allergies is to lamb.  We're waiting for the vet to hear about the serum for the shots and then we'll go and see him, do the shots, and find out what food to try first. Wish us luck.
