    My puppy

I have 7 month puppy.  She has recently started having problems eating, like she gets too excited or something because if we feed her small amounts throughout the day and keep her head up she is fine.  however, if we feed her on the ground she cannot keep the food down.  she also has problems drinking water, where she will get it comming up her nose if she drinks too fast and she will cough a lot of it up, but she is not dehydrated, the vet said that that was just her, but i was wondering if anyone else has any ideas on what might be going on with her or any ideas on how to help her out.

Is she a lab or some similar breed?  Thoes type of breeds tend to have eating problems like you describe.

You cold start by elevated feeding.  You could use a raised food bowl to feed so she doesn't have to bend down to eat.  Here is an example of one from dog.com

Raise it just high enough so she can get only a mouthful at a time that way she has to chew and swallow her food first before reaching for some more.  She may just be eating her food to fast and too much at a time which can cause a dog to bring the food back up.  Elevated feeding helps the food go down the throat easier, instead of going up and then down into the stomach it has a direct route to the stomach.
