• does he get the benedyl in the same dosage as an adult? kennys_mom Posted : 10/4/2006 10:24:24 PM i started kenny on benedryl the toher day. *actually its the store brand thats cheaper.* he is about 30 pounds so i gave him 1- 25 mg pill. the directions say to take another one ever 6 hours or so. should kenny get 2-3 pills a day like the dosage directions say? i relaly think this is helpring with his allergies b/c his tummy looks like its healing better. thanks! • jennie_c_d Posted : 10/4/2006 10:32:47 PM The dosage is 1-2 mg per pound, for normal stuff, so 25 mg is about right. I always gave it every 8 hours. It did make a  big difference, for Emma, when she needed it. I'm about to start Teenie on routine Benedryll. I've gotta get some of the kids' stuff. • Jenny Stromsdorfer Posted : 10/5/2006 1:46:44 PM I"ve been giving Bogey Benadryl for about 2months now and I really do think it helps. She still itches and scratches some, but not nearly as much. She's 50 lbs, so I give her 50 mg. 2 times a day and 3 times on the weekends (I'm home more). Every 8 hours. You have to give it time, too, to be able to really tell if it's working.
