Using Frontline Plus, still have flea problem!

I put Frontline Plus on my dogs a couple of weeks ago and I'm finding fleas on both dogs again!  This is the second application.  The first one only lasted about three weeks.  I took them to the groomer a few days ago, but I thought they could have a bath after a few days because by then it would be under their skin.  Any suggestions?

I have used Frontline, then Frontline Plus for years and loved it TIL THIS YEAR and I am having the same problem.  Fleas are back within 2 weeks.  Before it would last at least a month.   My brother in Austin, Tx has 3 dogs, 3 cats and they were overrun with fleas.  He was putting the Frontline on the dogs, spraying the yard and house and in a week dogs were covered.  he would srpay the yard and house again, and give the dogs a flea shampoo batch.  Few days, back thick.  The Frontline had always worked for him til this year.  He finally ended up calling a company his vet suggested and the company came out and sprayed this little worms or bugs called (don't know the spelling but is pronounced ) mnamatodes and that did the trick.  They eat fleas.

I want those worms!  I hate these fleas!  They are making me and my fur kids miserable.  I think it's even making Chalie not want to eat because he refused his breakfast until I picked off a couple of fleas, then he ate.

I had the same problem with Frontline Top Spot which is what my Vet sells and recommends.  Twice, I brought my dog to this vet at around 3 weeks after Frontline application and they found  fleas on  her..   I am now using Advantix and so far so good.....

We've been using Frontline Plus, too and have for 8 years. This year we've had fleas twice and this last time they were pretty bad.  Any of you switching from Frontline Plus to something else?  If so, what are you switching to?  If you've switched, and if it worked, what was it?  HELP! ! ! !

I switched... to the highest quality food I could find and the problem completely disappeared. I live in an area where fleas and ticks are abundant and I have not seen ONE flea or tick on any of my dogs since I changed their food and that's been over a year.  Besides... I feel it's too dangerous to put those chemicals on my animals. There are much better natural remedies that are more effective... using diatomaceous earth being one of them and then using an herbal flea spray or spot on made from plant oils and extracts. MUCH MUCH safer for your pets and just as effective if not moreso.

Fleas are attracted to dogs in poor health and who have a poor diet.  Here's some useful information:

    Poor Health Attracts Fleas
There are a few natural remedies for the prevention of fleas and also for flea control, BUT a healthy lifestyle, including a good natural diet and exercise can help to prevent fleas. Parasites are attracted to animals with ‘tasty#%92 blood, therefore feeding a lesser quantity of a high quality food may avoid the build up of toxic waste in the system which attract the parasites.

Why Chemical Pesticides Actually Bring More Fleas

    ".....
[font="verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif"]Diet alone plays a surprisingly large part in flea-proofing your pet, so don#%92t overlook the importance of feeding a high quality all-natural food, and adding some immune-building raw foods to your pet#%92s diet. Natural flea control takes consistent effort over time, but it#%92s ultimately far more successful than the pesticidal alternatives."

We've used Revolution for the past few years and haven't had any fleas or ticks. I've heard it doesn't work as good on ticks as Frontline, but it's worth a shot for fleas!

Just an update on K9 advantix.  I am a few days short of a month and my dog has not one flea.. Much better than Frontline was able to do, and besides the mosquitoes aren't buzzing around her head all the time either, when we walk in the park.....

I feed my dog a very high quality diet--wellness venison and brown rice. She is still re-infested with fleas within 2 weeks after trying frontline, advantage or K9 anvantix. I am so mad. You pay so much for these spot ons and they don't even work! We also live in new Orleans which is the flea capital ever since the hurricane. Last night I picked 11 fleas off of Sunny. She doesn't even scratch that much, I just hate the thought of them. I am willing to try anything! I also vacuum frequently and wash bedding in hot water, etc. I want those worms, too. What are they again?
