Labs BURPING

• Labs BURPING David Cagle Posted : 3/23/2006 4:03:52 PM Hi I have a 3 yr old Lab who is burping about every 15 min. I can't think of anything diet or snack wise that has changed...anyone have any ideas? Can you give a dog TUMS? If so how many? He's 110 lbs. • David Cagle Posted : 3/24/2006 11:50:13 PM I'd say he's been doing it about 3 months now.  I can't think of anything in his diet that has changed nor his snacks.   Since TUMS are basically calcium I can't think they would hurt him..I'll try a few and see if they help. I just thought maybe there might be something else going on. Thanks for the help. • jeano Posted : 3/25/2006 4:20:28 AM Dyan, my Hunter dog ate an entire bottle of Tums once and it did him no harm at all. Except he burped up a lot of minty burps for about eight hours!!! Hunter was a Chesapeake/Aussie mix. He looked just like Clifford, the Big Red Dog. David, somehow that experience doesn't lead me to believe that Tums would help your dog! I'd try the Pepto if it is stomach upset. But how much burping are we talking about? If he wolfs his food down, that's probably the reason.
