    Sick as a dog

I have a six year old Lhasa Apso who is sick and I'm not sure what to do. I can't exactly afford to take her to the vette at the moment. She has been vomiting, it's brown doesn't really have a smell to it. I noticed today that she does have diarrhea and it's dark colored. She hasn't really ate or drank much. Her play activity seems normal but since she's been sick I haven't really tossed her ball to her. Our yard has lots of stickers and when she goes outside I notice that she gets them stuck in her feet and picks them off. Lately it seems like she actually eats the stickers and I've noticed in pervious times she has thrown up that there are stickers in it, but at that time her throw up was yellowish clear. If anyone could help me I would really appreicate it. I can give you more information if you'd like, just let me know.

How long has this been going on and what has she been eating?  If possible, at least call a vet's office and get some sort of suggestions if you can't afford to take her.  I would be concerned.

Tuesday was when she threw up the most. Like four to five times in an hour. Honestly, I think the only thing she has been eating is her dog food besides a small piece of chip, but I noticed that she threw that up a little later. I haven't really notice her touching her dog food since yesterday morning. I've been changing her water too, just to make sure that there isn't anything in her bowl. Then on the other note, the stickers situation I think she is eating those when she picks them off herself.

It's very possible that the stickers have caused some problems to her digestive system.  First, I'd either play with her in another location, but if you must play where all the stickers are (ugh [X(]), then I'd spend some time picking them off every single time you bring her in.  Even if she doesn't eat them, eventually one is going to cause some problems with her skin.

If she is refusing to eat, then I honestly think you need to get her to the vet.  Having thrown up for a few days and now avoiding food, she will continue to get weaker and dehydrated.  Many vets will work with you on the financial part.  Good luck!
