Nose Area Pox / Rash/ Bite

Vine (1 yr black lab) has maybe five or six raised bumps around his nose area.  They look like pimples but the size of peas.  At first I noticed two and thought they might be bites or stings (he was playing with a bumble bee).  They started out pink and then turned white.  Then I noticed a few on the other side of his mouth another day so I am wondering if there is somesort of pox or something out there I don't know about (he is my first dog).  They are not growing any bigger but they do have a distinct center point.  I am going to wait a few more days to see what happens before taking him to the vet, but any feedback in the meantime would be much appreciated.
    Thanks-
    Vine and mom

My lab-x has "canine acne".  He had huge pea sized pink bumps on his muzzle and his chin.  It looked awful!

I tried washing it with baby wipes, dog-shampoo, etc. but not much helped.  Apparently you can get some acne stuff from the vet - but mine didn't seem very concerned about it.  (Don't use people acne products, it will only make it worse...)

You have to make sure to wash bowls every time you use them.  Also, if you can, use stainless steel instead of plastic.  (Plastic can hold bacteria and germs - according to the vet.)

I switched food brands, and his acne is almost gone.
