my dobies, skin infection! please help!

    hello friends,

I need some help. My Doberman dobie is  having ringworm infection on his skin, over the leg. Can anyone please tell me, what are the oral drugs that i can give him, with dosages per kilogram body weight and for how much duration.
He licks away the topically applied anti-fungal cream when i apply it, so its not having any effect on him.

pl advise me as soon as possible.

    thank you

    abc

Ringworm, if this IS ringworm, is a fungus infection and must be treated with a fungicide and THAT is only available for the vet.  Your dobie needs to be seen to be given the proper medication.

Welcome to idog; I agree with glenmar. You need to take your dog to the vet to get the right medicine; let us know what the vets says; good luck.

The vet that I work for use itraconazole as a systemic treatment for ringworm along with this he also uses Malaseb shampoo topically.  The treatment usually lasts from 4-6 weeks.  Hope this helps.

I would get the dog to a vet and it checked to amke sure what the problem is.  It could be an infection rather than ringworm.  Good luck
