    Puke

Minsk vomited a bit of frothy bile this morning.  Earlier he had refused to eat his breakfast.  He has eaten some treats, but with a little less gusto then normal.  He has been a little lethargic since, but not to the point where he passed up the opportunity to hunt a fly in the living room for about 20 minutes.  Anyways, I wouldn't be that worried and would probably just chalk it up to puppy tummy except for two things.  First, is that he was given his dose of Frontline Plus yesterday afternoon.  Minsk is a little over 45 lbs and the Frontline dose is for dogs 44 to 80 lbs. so, he is a little on the light end for it.  However, this would be the second month on this dose of Frontline and he has been on a lighter dose for about five months with no apparent problems.  Has anyone experienced any problems with appetite after administering Frontline?

The other concern is that he came back from two nights of boarding at the kennel a few days ago.  He has seemed fine up until now and has had an appetite for the last two days till this morning.  If he was to pick up kennel cough what would be the early signs?  FYI, his stools have been fine including today.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Are his nose and eyes runny? Is he coughing? It could be coughing, clear flem is a sign, but it could be other things too.
I would get him to the vet ASAP.

He started having intermittent watery diarrhea and didn't eat yesterday so we took him to the vet today.  He was given a few injections to rehydrate him and to help firm up his poops.  He's also on an antibiotic and another medication for his upset stomach.  He didn't have a temperature or a cough so the vet doubted it was kennel cough.  He said he probably just picked up some sort of "bug" while boarding and these things usually clear themselves up.  Anyways, I feel better being safe then sorry and a week of the meds will make sure that it doesn't develop into a bad bacterial infection or other problem.  Minsk seems a little less active then normal, but the vet said he is almost sure that in a day or two he'll be fine.  Also, the vet gave us two cans of Hills i/d.  I'm not going to switch his foods permanently, but the vet said this will be good for the next day or two as its easy on the digestive system.

The couple of cans of food are probably fine, but if you're ever in need of something bland for tummy troubles, boiled chicken or hamburger and white rice (cooked to a mushy consistency) are about the best you can use.  Hopefully the meds will get your boy back on the way to feeling better.

ID food is really good for firming up the stomach after a dog becomes ill. It is not something that a dog is on for more than 3-5 days. Then you can go back to your regular food.
I hope your baby feels better!
