Heard of using Gold Bond Powder for itchy toes?

Has anyone heard of using Gold Bond Powder on your dog's itchy toes? I've been reading about that lately.

Yes, you can use it on the skin too -- particularly for hot spots that are wet and 'under' the belly, armpits, toes.  It's actually a suggestion from my holistic vet.

Thanks much. I'm going to try it. Do you just dab it between her toes? I've heard that there are medicated pads - maybe I"ll look for those and can wipe it on.  Ever done that?

    THANKS ! ! !

Gold Bond is a MUST in our house.  I found out about it a couple of years ago on several of my golden retrieve forums--goldens tend to get lots of hot spots--and i didn't actually think it could be as good as claimed---til I tried it on KayCee and gosh, how fast that hot spot cleared up.  She gets them in spring and fall.  If I see her chewing or scratching a lot, I put it on her right then even if I don't really see a spot, and that takes of the itching.

ALSO I sometimes get the itches, especiallya fter workin outdoors, and i use it on myself.

Do you dilute it or just right out of the box?  If they lick it is that bad?

O.K. Now, do you use the powder or the lotion? I looked for the powder and there is the Original (gold box), extra strength (green, I think) and even stronger yet (blue?).   Which do you use?  Please be specific.

That's what I was wondering too; can it be toxic if they lick it?

I use the yellow container, powder, sprinkle it on and I have never seen them licking it.

Maybe it has something in it they don't like the taste or smell of; thanks.

    yeah, I"m wondering, too!

I tried using it on Sassy's tummy when it was really bad and she licked it right off.  She'll like just about anything though - except the solution I made with tea tree oil.  She hates the taste of it.
