Gentle on skin, hard on smell?

• Gentle on skin, hard on smell? sillysally Posted : 3/15/2006 11:04:39 AM Can anyone recommend a shampoo that is easy on the skin (Sally is prone to dry skin) but gets rid of doggy smell well. I currently use an oatmeal shampoo and a leave in conditioner on Sally, but it seems like she is smellie in a week or two..... • calliecritturs Posted : 3/25/2006 7:57:20 PM This is actually per my vet's recommendations -- I use Baby Magic Milk Bath with chammomile and lavender in it (yes, human baby soap) and then in 2 gallons of rinse water I use about 25 drops of lavender and about 25 drops of tea tree oil. (I stand the in a dishpan - however many 'feets' will fit in -- and just pour it over them by the cupsfull.  So it's not just going down the drain but I pour it over and over.   It makes the coat awsomely shiney and it fights yeast/staph too.  0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • starsenchis Posted : 4/5/2006 12:42:53 AM A groomer's vet-approved trick for stinky and/or dandruffy dogs:   Fill a spray bottle with 3/4 regular listerine and 1/4 water. Mist dog twice daily.   This gets rid of all doggy smell without bathing and leaves the coat dandruff-free and shiny.   I've had luck using it only once a day with my stinky old guy.
