    Shampoo suggestions

We are currently using puppy shampoo(don't remember the name brand at the moment. Nothing special, I think i bought it at Walmart) on our 10 month old cocker/poodle mix.  He has a very soft coat and would like to keep in that way (as well as healthy). Was wondering if there are any suggestions as to adult shampoos for a cockapoo breed?
    Thanks

I have tried a ton  of dog sampoos and alwyas had different issues with them.  A lot of adult dog shampoos have alcohol in them and leave Rory's coat feeling dried out with coarse hair, some leave a residue no matter how hard you rinse, and some just plain suck. I found this one a couple of months ago and have been so happy with it. It is called Septiderm-V, here is a link....

I havnt seen it at Petsmart yet but at some finer dog stores. It leaves her coat sooooo soft and rinses really easy. It is made for soothing animals and realxing the dog and their skin. I originally bought it because she gets small scratches on her undercarriage when she plays in the woods and it was so great we have stuck with it!

After reading the posts on this site, I bought some Plush Puppy for my Skye Terrier (at a dog show) and it's amazing!  I use the evening-primrose oil shampoo, and the Reviva-Coat foam.

In my grooming shop, I use both Espree and Kelco (both are available in the dog.com catalog).  I'm a bit of a shampoo-a-holic.   I also like Buddy Wash, Tropiclean, The Natural Groomer (Harco Labs), and #1 All Systems.

#1 All Systems is a great Shampoo. I use that one on my Show Dogs. I use Bio-groom on the others. Being that he is Black I would recommend a Black dog Shampoo. I use Ultra Black on my Reese and he has never-ever-ever bleached out. I feel it really works.

I have used Cardinal Puppy Shampoo.  It's gentle/mild and also tearless.  The smell is good, kinda like a clean dog smell.   It states on the back that the mild formula cleanses but also protects the natural oils in the skin.  I wish it smelled a little better, but good for now.

Plush Puppy or Eqyss seem to be the best ones I've tried (and I've tried a LOT!)

I love the bodifying shampoo and revivacoat foaming mousse conditioner.

Premier shampoo and creme rinse, and premier rehydrant spray are my favorites.

My dog gets shampooed with whatever I'm using on my hair at the time, usually one of the better brands with matching conditioner, V05 last time.
He's a show dog so has to look OK.[;)]

We have all heard that human shampoo is too harsh for dogs. It must have been written by the dog shampoo vendors :-) as all the test results between human & dog shampoo I have seen shows that the acid / alkali balance is the the same in both. Ph.6 to 7.

If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for your dog [:D]

Best Shot has worked really well for my Shih Tzu. I use their 3 step system of shampoo, conditioner, and spray (leave in) conditioner.
