You really are new to the dog owner's world aren't ya? lol

You will need to do a daily brushing, if not a couple of times a day. I would for now hold off on trying to groom the pup yourself other than brushing his/her teeth and brushing their coat on a regular basis, but for trims, hair cuts, nail trims. I would seek out a professional groomer and have the pup done that way until you are more confidant as a pet owner and get a little more at ease with the responsiblities that comes with ownership of a fur child.

Here is a web site you can go to in regard training your pup when the time comes.

Play with his feet such as squeeze them, move his nails around, and spread out his pad, even play around with his ears. Don't give up when ever your puppy cries when you brush him just give him treats and lots of praise when brushing if you give up it makes brushing for the groomer much harder when he is screaming in your ear or biting.

;Plus don't let your little puppy get matted to the point that it's hard on him to be brushed out on his his first trip to the groomer if you do not want your puppy clipped. It makes the first time being groomed a negitive experience and it makes it harder for both puppy and groomer.

I wish you good luck in the whole grooming thing and I hope when you get him or her that you post pictures.[:D]
