    Lumps in Dogs

My dog developed a lump overnight and a needle biopsy revealed cells with multiple nuclei, which the vet said is a marker for cancer and the lump should be removed.  By the date of surgery, the lump was significantly reduced, but removal was still recommended.  Test results have come back with no cancer, and they have no real explanation for the irregular cells other than a unknown, foreign object may have caused a localized reaction.  Am now sick that I subjected my dog to unnecessary surgery, but once they said possible cancer, I felt I had no choice.  Has this happened to anyone else?!

When we hear the word cancer we all tend to freak out. How is your dog now? It's always better to be safe than sorry, try to find comfort in that and learn from this, always get a second opinion. But I wish there were people like you who take of issues before they get worse. Keep me posted on how your dog is doing. What kind of dog is it? Name?
