While I appreciate the links you provided, I am looking for shears (scissors) not clippers.
As far as clippers go, I use Laube clippers and would not have it any other way [].

I  just got a couple pair of Kamisori shears and absilutly love them to bits!
lightweight, super well ballanced,  cut like a hot knife through butter etc.
I have several Heritage shears & they just dont compaire.
Kamisori is running a sale right now, big discount off there reg price & free shipping,  That puts most of the shears under or around the $100 mark

I cant vouch for them personaly since i havent recived mine yet (shipping from the states takes 4ever)
but they are supposed to be really good, about $70?  and comparible to much more exspensive shears

Yep, they're only $20, but I've had them for going on 2 years and they work really well. I can probably go about 2 months before I need them sharpened.
 
Also I have a very fat thumb, and this is really nice and the grip is awesome. I don't like the rubber things that go inside the scissors, as it cuts off my circulation, but these are really helpful, and dont' agrivate my carpal tunnel as much.

To be quite honest, 2 months isent very good, my scissors last at least a year (ussaly more)before I need to get them sharpened. TP brand scissors are cheap, there ok for chop work (ie cutting up matts & dirty coat) but there really is a HUGE difrence between $20 shears & good $100+ shears ( & the ones I posted are comparable to much more exspensive shears) that you wouldent realize without actully using them. I wouldent even consider using them for trimming/finnish work , When I first started out it was with cheaper scissors like the TP but ive been grooming almost 14 years now & learned a long time ago the difrence in my work (not even how they feel to me but what my dogs look like when finnished) and how my hands feel at the end of the day. My old scissors sit in a box somewhere cause I wouldent ever go back to using them even though at the time I got them I thought they were great. The scissors that I reach for when grooming are always the higher quality shears.
Scissor fit is very personal, I usally cant stand the rubber rings eather, Ive large hands and with the rings it makes the holes to small on most of them (Not the Kamisoris, they fit me like a dream) thats why they make the rubbers rings so there removable, since everyone hands are difrent it makes them more adjustable to fit a wider range.
I also have Talyns which I love to but there well above the $100 mark so I dident list them here. They have shears that are specially designed to ease CT problems and reduce the risk of developing it in the first place www.gilrae.com

I would appreciate it if you could include the link for Talyns. Even though I can't afford them, my boss had mentioned them because she had seen them at a show and loved the way they felt.
The Kamisori shears looked great. I loved the three ringed ones, but I am curious as to how the swivel thumb shears work as well.
I used to be a cosmetologist (for humans, lol) and know and understand shear quality, that's why I want to buy the BEST I can afford.

I have the 3finger shears & the bluemist elite swivel thumbs, I was a bit iffy about the swivel thumb shears but I talked to Zak (Very Nice) at Kamisori & decided that they just looked so Dang Cool I had to get some[] (I know I know...but I like pretty scissors...)
Anyways they do take a lil getting used to (about 2 minutes in my case *G*) but they are soooo worth it, basicly when you scissor, the thumb bit swivles so you thumb isent twisted when you open/close your shears, keeping your hand in a more natural possision. takes a load of stress of your hands when scissoring, exspecialy fiddly bits.
Ive always hated small scissors because ive large hands and there just so fiddly & basicly to small for me to hold comfortably but I havent had that problem with the swivels, In fact I use them for all the feet/ears/ small stuff that I always used to use 7' shears for.. There that good *G*
