Being so involved with rescue this is such a huge thing, so many pets are found without collars and if they were chipped they would be able to go home. Quick story: Last summer a huge dog was found not far from my home just wandering, they figured he got dumped off, no collar nothing. Thankfully, he was chipped, the new owner never updated it and it still had his breeders information. When the breeder found out they actually came and took the dog back. Happy ending, if he wasn't chipped, he would have ended up in shelter. I urge everyone to chip your pooch!
