Painting A Dog's Nails?

If the dog doesn't mind, it's not harmful. I've never painted my dog's nails and never will. I don't think dressing dogs up like humans is cute but many do and no harm done if the dog isn't frightened or forcefully held down to paint the nails, dress them up or whatever.  

Thanks Jackie. I will never let her dress up my dog, She has drawer space devoted to her Pom mix's outfits. Kiki,the dog, doesn't seem scared when she is dressed up but I wanted to make sure she wasnt doing anything dangerous.

There was a member of this forum who had an adorable pair of Boston Terriers (Jackie, I'm sure you remember her -- was it Meilani, I think?).  Anyway, she painted their nails, and I was always amazed that she was able to do that.  She said they sat still and didn't mind it at all.

She also was a talented sewer, and my favorite photos were when she'd post them in their Halloween costumes, which often matched the theme of her kids' costumes, too.  I know it's not everyone's cup of tea to dress up dogs, but honestly, those photos used to really make me smile.  I just loved them.

Anyway, if the dog isn't stressed during the manicure (or is it pedicure??), and the nail polish is one that is relatively low-toxic (if there is such a thing), I don't think it's dangerous.

Jackie and Tracy took the words out of my mouth, As long as Kiki seems calm, I don't see a problem with it. I , like your girlfriend, love to dress up my dog. Not only does she seem calm when I am putting on her outfits but she seems to love prancing around in them.

 Its all about what her dog wants. Ears back and yawning are  some signs that she may not be too happy! Best of luck! :)

There are nail polish for dogs non toxic sold at wal-mart

I think polish looks cute , but I'm not sure my girls would sit still long enough to have it dry fully.
