    Clippers?

Can anyone reccomend a good set of clippers?

I already recommended these clippers on a different thread so I'll just copy/paste:

I use some clippers by Wahl called Pro Series Pet Clippers:

On their site the clippers cost $77.99 but you can get them from this company for $49.50:

I have an English Springer Spaniel that I use these on. I can't believe how close it gets! Plus it can be used without the cord so it is easier to maneuver. I think they are very good clippers for the price.

It's funny I come across this thread.  Today I was going to take Harley to get his nails clipped which he is long overdue for.  Well, when I got home he wasn't feeling well so I decide that I was going to buy some clippers and attempt for the first time in probably 5 years, to clip my dogs nails on my own.  My DH wouldn't help b/c it makes him too nervous, so I was holding and clipping and managed to get through the whole think w/o any drama whatsoever.  The clippers I bought had a nail guard which was perfect for me.  They make it so that if you use the guard you can only clip so much and I managed to miss the quick on every nail.  Now that he let me do it once, I plan to try to do it about once a week and get his quick to shrink.  I just can't get him to the groomer often enough.

I just bought the cheapest ones I could find at Petco that the groomers said they thought would work and it was suprising how well it worked out...now I just have to convince izzy that nail clippings aren't that bad.......ay ya ya!!!  The name on these was Millers Force....but I have also heard that a lot of people use a dremel.

I'm a fan of Andis clippers. I use the super two speed Andis (with a cord).
    I like their blades, too.

Laube are the absolute best, IMO. They do (can) heat up quickly, but if your careful, it's not a problem. I love they way in which they cut right through even the heaviest coats and in the speedin which they do it!

I like Andis and Oster equally.

I know you are talking about ful-size clippers but I've recently discovered a new love - the Wahl compact that runs on a "AA" battery.  The only thing is that I can't do a full body clip on my Crested without changing the battery - but it's quiet and efficient and i can keep it in the "dog box" and do touch ups anywhere.

I like my Andis Pro - not too expensive but with all the features you need for home use.  I'd pay a bit more for a two-speed if I did more clipping, but I just have Zhi and trimming up Border collie "hobbit feet" to do regularly.

I've heard the Arcos are really nice. But too rich for my blood at present.[;)]
