    Shedding?

Does the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon shed/have pet dander?

All dogs shed,  some just shed less than others. Typically, though, dogs who shed less (like Poodles or Shih Tzus) are high-maintenance when it comes to grooming and need daily brushing and regular visits to the groomer. All dogs have dander as well, dander being the skin cells of an animal which are shed -- but the amount varies from dog to dog.

I have a St. Bernard who has just started to loose big chunks of fur (this is similar to what i see my shelty do in spring and fall) but i would have thought that the st would have already done that.  We just became parents of the 3 year old st. recently.  He does seem to shed alittle all  the time but i try to groom he once or twice a week to help.  But just notice the big stuff.  You can acutally just pull it right off him.  Wondering if i need to get him some vitimines or change his food. He is on Iams(we used that with our other dogs)and had no problems.  Wondering if anyone has any ideas on this?

That's what I thought when I switched Max from the Kirkland lamb & rice to EP Holistic.  He's now about 2/3 way  through his  third bag - and a bag lasts him a long time because he only eats 1-1/2 to 2 cups daily  - but he still sheds a whole new dog every day.

Hmm I wonder if you would get three dogs if not on a good dog food ;)
I was told you need something high in omega 3 by a dog nutrionist.
