If you will email me I have a TON of info on demodex I will send you. It's something my husband and I do a LOT of. My pug, Tinkerbell, came to us because she had such horrific demodex at 4 1/2 months old they didn't think she'd live.
To answer your question, don't spot bathe. That just makes the mites move around. Any bathing you do for demodex needs to be done in **warm water** (not outside with the hose) and with a hand -held sprayer of some sort because you have to rinse uber well so you don't leave shampoo & dead mites in the skin pores. Part of what Pyoben does is open the pores and hair follicles so it can wash mites down the drain. It has benzoyl peroxide in it -- it literally opens skin pores ... but cold/cool water will *close* pores prematurely.
There is a lot more you can do. My email is in my signature pic -- the article it on my home computer but I'll be glad to send it to you. You may also want to check out my photos to see what La Pug looked like in those early, bad days. Her demodex was massive and generalized all over her body (along with major staph skin infection and a bunch of other things).
You also need to get her immune system online and working better. Demodex is primarily genetic -- it's a flawed immune system (the way the residue the mites leave reacts with their skin is almost like an allergic reaction). My point is -- it's not just about "killing the mites" -- it's also getting the immune system to control them the way it should. Demodex mites are 100% normal -- all mammals have them (including you and I in the T-zone between our eyebrows/nose). My article tells you other things you can do to help that.
I'll help you any way I can. *smile* we love demodex dogs at our house LOL
