    Clipper Recomendation

I know there are some groomers here.  What brand/type of clippers do you recommend for at home use?

By the way, I have a Cocker Spaniel and a Cockapoo who is more poodle than Cocker.

Im not a groomer, but I do groom my own dogs. I have a scottish terrier and a schnauzer mix.

I wasted about 50 dollars on a pair of wahl clippers at walmart. Honestly they would hardly cut my Scotties thick coat at all. Then I ordered Andis AG clippers and they are soo much better. They cut through thick coats easily and do a nice job. They are very easy to use and do not get hot as quickly as the cheaper set did. It is well worth the extra money to buy a better set they will last forever and do a much better job than the cheaper sets.

Here is a link to the Andis. I ordered them here at dog.com

    Hello,
I am a pet stylist and agree with theresamat. The Andis clippers are the clippers I've used for years. Never buy the "cheap" clippers from wal-mart, you're just throwing money out the window.
    Good luck, Marla

I agree. Spend the money. Get Andis clippers (I like the two speed). Buy expensive snap on blades. Take great care of them, and you'll never have to buy clippers again.

I agree with all of the above posts.  By a good Andis clipper and you won't be sorry.

Thank you guys for the recomendations.  I really appreciate it.  I have a poodle and a cocker spaniel and the poodle (who has a little cocker in her) has the very thick water resistant poodle fur.  I need a good pair of clippers that will hold up under those conditions.

I too recomend the Andis clippers, preferabaly the dual speed ones.  I used to use Oster religiously (because it's what I learned on) until I tried out the Andis and fell in love :)
