How do you clean your dog's ears? I put a little Epi-optic (sp?) on a cotton ball and just wipe the ears clean, is that OK? Also, can anyone suggest a good nail clipper? Thanks in advance.

This is how the vet trained me to clean ears when I was a vet tech (and he also taught all his clients this way, too)

Put a good sized sqirt of cleaner right into the ear canal, then massage the base of the ear and you should hear a squishing sound as the ear cleaner is massaged through the ear canal.
Then, let the dog shake and all the gunk that was in the ears is dislodged and you can then wipe it away with a cotton ball.
Don't worry about getting "water" in the dog's ears- ear cleaner has a quick-dry agent in it and is totally safe to get inside the ears.

Nail clippers- I don't recommend the guillotine type- just a pain to use.  These are good:
