Anyone try Zymox shampoo or rinse?

Can't help with experience.  I was thinking about using it over the summer when Caleb got real itchy.  When I went down to Cherrybrook, the store manager suggested this Groomer's Edge's Hypo Plus Hypoallergenic Shampoo.  It really helped Caleb.

When Willy arrived here 2.5 years back, he had really bad skin, extensive yeast infection caused by food allergies.  My vet said any oatmeal shampoo would help (we also used antibiotics and other meds, he was one very ill doggie back then).  I get my supplies from Pet Edge, so I bought this one:   http://www.petedge.com/product/Bio-Groom-Natural-Oatmeal-Anti-Itch-Shampoo/45960.uts

Since we were treating with so many things: getting him on the proper food, using meds, and regular baths, I can't say which helped, but it all helped and quickly.

 Thanks ladies - he's not yeasty, just itchy and I know its not food - we've had control of that for years. I am not sure of what it is but I thought since I need shampoo I could buy one that might help with the itch. His skin, coat all look great.

Karen--good question--Sinbad is major itchy with his fall allergies now, too (a grass that is going to seed now). I'm trying to stay away from heavy duty steroids, but I think we'll have to go that route if we don't get a freeze soon.  If you try the shampoo with Bugsy, let me know how it works. I have an oatmeal shampoo I use occasionally--I'll try that, too.

 I'll probably try it - it can't hurt LOL and I need new shampoo!

The ear drops are fabulous in case you need something for ears

Rocky is driving us crazy with all the itching and chewing.   The benedryl is not cutting it and if its driving us crazy I can just imagine what it's doing to him.  I bathed him last week and he did ease up for a few hours only.  .

Bugsy  started this earlier this year and then it went away, he has a ton of allergies but they've always been under control. The benadryl helps with keeping dandruff, internal upset and breathing issues away but this new itchiness is crazy. If you touch his belly he starts scratching :(

Freedom, Bugsy doesn't need bathing often, his coat is wonderful, he has no stink, and he's by nature a clean dog (doesn't roll in stuff, is obsessive about where he sits or lies down, etc.)

Last year someone asked me what I bathed him in to keep him smelling so good (she bent down to sniff him LOL) and his coat so glossy. I was totally embarrassed as I couldn't recall when he was last bathed and confessed I had this same bottle of shampoo since he was a pup 

I saw it on the shelf and almost bought it but then I saw that Buddy stuff that people are always recommending so I got that one instead (the one with natural ingredients, for itchy/sensitive skin).  Coke was itching himself raw a few weeks ago.  I had switched foods about a month before that, so I switched him back to California Natural Lamb and Rice, bathed him with the Buddy stuff, started adding fish oil capsules, and gave him benedryl for a few days.  That seems to have helped.  I'm not sure what the cause was, possibly the food switch.  He's still itching a bit but is no longer scabby and everyone is itching right now with the furnace going on.

Buddy Wash?  That's what I usually use.  Try the conditioner, too.  I know it sounds weird to use conditioner on a Lab or GSD, but it helps.  It adds an extra layer of "protection" between the skin and allergens (easiest way to put it)

ETA- Oh, wait, Coke has long hair.  OK, so it doesn't sound so weird after all.  LOL

The shampoo I've been using for Shane has a conditioner in it also and I think it helps. His coat feels wonderful and he always less itchy for several days after a bath. He doesn't have generalized itching but mainly on his lower back legs. The way he reacts, I'd swear he was getting bit by a flea at times but he's on HW/flea protection and I've never seen a flea on him.

 let me know if you end up liking this stuff. I use oatmeal shampoo for lily but would switch if this stuff got an endorsement. She is super itchy from allergies this year.
