    A friend with two year old Great Dane is really having a problem after he bloated......he recovered quite quickly from the surgery which was wonderful but then he started struggling with his health.   His vet said he had  polyarthritis , she mentioned last night that yesterday he started trying to play a little for the first time in a long time........but she wanted to get  him off the countless pills he takes and try to treat him a little more naturally..... wondered if anyone here has any experience here.

    "polyarthritis" is what they call it when arthritis attacks more than 4-5 joints at once.  Can be caused by a bunch of stuff -- can also be auto-immune.

     If she's giving any of the NSAIDs regularly (like Rimadyl, Deramaxx, etc.) then she should be giving milk thistle bare minimum.  If you will email me (NOT a PM -- I need to send you an attachment) I will send you some information to give her.

    She may want to consider a vet who does acupuncture -- that can seriously help arthritis more than anything (I even get acupuncture for my *own* arthritis -- and I wound up doing that because I saw such positive effect from the dogs getting it).

    Thank you Callie, a lot.  I do believe that she did say she just started him on Milk Thistle.  I will email you now...
