Overdose!

• Overdose! Lee debbie Posted : 9/14/2012 11:14:44 PM I accidentally overdosed Alphie and Ashton on SAM-e and Ashton's vetmedin. Gave them 400mg of SAM-e twice and Ashton's vetmedin 5mg twice. I called the vet right away and they just told me to monitor not really stating what I should look out for. I'm so scared now. And I need my brain fixed. • calliecritturs Posted : 9/14/2012 11:35:21 PM Debbie -- the SAM-e is no biggie at all -- he'll just poop it out.  NO PROBLEM AT ALL  In fact for a dog that size I wouldn't consider 400 mg twice a day to be an over dose at all -- that's a pretty normal dose for a big dog!!  As to the Vetmedin -- you may see some lethargy (it can bring the blood pressure down) -- And if you only did it a couple of times it shouldn't be a huge problem.  You may see some diarrhea -- Panic thou not!!!  He'll be FINE 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • Lee debbie Posted : 9/15/2012 12:30:56 AM Thank goodness!!! Yes I do see lethargy in Ashton and that made me panic, all sorts of awful thoughts went through my mind. Alphie is panting as much as she usually does so it's hard to tell if she's worse. Thanks for the assurance Callie, I couldn't find anything specific in articles. I wish I had a cool head like you.
