Dog's eye swollen and lots of pus.

My dog Princess, just today, her eye is just oozing with pus, well, all around the eye, I guess, and the inner eye is blood red. My other dog Chewy and her have been fighting lately, and I can't tell if maybe Chewy may have bitten her in the eye, or maybe she got bit by a spider or something... has anyone else had a similar experience or any advice? (Other than take her to the vet...) I also don't know if maybe it's just infected, because I noticed yesterday, she did have a little bit of pus on the corner of her eye all day, but I didn't think much of it because she has eye boogers a lot.

I never fool around with eye issues; I'd be off to the ER vet asap!

See the thing you don't understand -- first, the worst that could happen just now is she could lose the eye. second .... the eye is really close to the brain -- an eye infection that putrid can go systemic. It could be an abscess that could rupture internally -- it could do more than just lose her eye --

vet ... NOW. (and yeah -- we all know we're saying that on a Saturday night after all vets are closed) That means an ER vet.

Where I am located, I couldn't get my dog to the vet right that second... but the day after I posted this, her eye is almost back to normal! Very strange... I had given her some baby aspirin to stop the swelling, but that's all. It doesn't seem to be bothering her anymore. :) Very strange, though... That's what makes me think she got bit by something... she has the worst luck with bugs and venomous things... she's gotten stung by (what we believe to be) a scorpion twice, made her face puff up so large it was almost like she was transformed into a bulldog! And she has a very skinny face... but all in all, her eye isn't bothering her anymore, and I will keep posted on what the vet says! :)

I'm glad her eye is okay; that was so scary! I'm curious as to why you gave her aspirin for the swelling? My vet recommends an antihistamine like Benedryl for swelling from insect bites.

My vet recommended baby aspirin... said that it helps with swelling... interesting.
