    Honey hurt her leg

Beautiful warm sunny day, hae windows open listenin to all the birds singing.  Honey was on the patio and I was at my desk in bedroom by window facing backyard.  I heard a commotion out hter and a squirrel just a scolding and knew she had been after one.  I think it had problaly come down the sycamore tree nearest the bedroom window to try to steal bir seed--hav the feeders t the edge to the patio to try to discouragesqurrels.

looked out and the swuirrel had made it to the top of the 6 foot wooden fence and Honey was leaping like an antelope.  i was watching her and sudden she stopped and started limping.  I went to patio door and called her ina dnd she came in limping on rifhgt front leg.  Got in ahd held her foot up.  I coudln't find anything wrong with her foot so I think she was just keeping weight off that leg or shoulder.  Gonna keep a close eye on her and if she keeps limping will hae to find a way to get her to the vet--hubby is on the road, in Chicago at the moment and of course with my vision I can't drive.

When she is going to relazie that ishe is an old lady between 10 1/2 and 11 yars old, and not a puppy any more.

Honey, please be careful and dont worry your mom that way.  Hopefully she will never realize she is a more mature lady Wink  Hope she will be ok.

She is still limping today, but not as bad.  I kept the patio door shut so she coudln't go out and try to catch squirrels or play (run like the devil was after her) up and down the back fecne playing with the dogs on the other side.   Plan to do the same tomorrow.

I'm glad she's better today. Jessie was 13 in October and still chases critters and plays keep away with us. She has arthritis in her right shoulder so we don't let her play too long or she will limp the next day. I don't think dogs realize their physical limitations when they get older; at least Honey and Jessie don't. Give that sweet girl some belly rubs for me and Jessie.

Thanks.   Unlike so many of us senioers, thee dogs go right on with their lives and do not sit around moaning and groaning.  As much as it worries me seeing her play so hard all the time, it does make me happy that she CAN do this at her age.  To many goldesn do not even see dobule diget numbers due to cancer.  A couple of weeks ago we had one join the golden form,--her golden, just barely a year old, had been diagnosed with cancer in lymph nodes and spleen.  another joined a few days later--her just turned 4 year old golden had just been daignosed with bone cancer.

KayCee wa 8 yrs.9 months when I lost her to cancer.  And Honey has had one gumor removed fomr her leg almost 3 years ago.  so yes, I gess we worry about them playing to hard, but are happy they can and want to do so.

I'm always worried Willow (age 11)  is going to get hurt jumping or zooming around.  I'm always telling her to "wait" so I can help her jump out of the car.  And, if she starts zooming like crazy I tell her to stop.  She looks at me like I'm such a buzz kill.  I feel guilty for not letting her have fun.  But, I'd feel guilty if she hurt herself too.  Its a no win situation.

I know what you mean.  Caught between a rock & hard place.  Fret oer them and make them "act their age" or let them enjoy themselves becuae they can.  and while they are enjoying theirselves, we are sitting there or staning thee worrying they ar going to bredak a leg or tear a tnedon or something.  Right, it is a no win situtation.
