I'd called my TCVM vet's office back -- Tink's been showing some sort of a little tick, quirk, wince, odd behavior for a while and I've referred to it in a couple of posts (the one on Finn and a couple of times in mindless chat). We took her to get adjusted (my TCVM vet is also a good chiropractor) and she was pretty badly in need of adjustment but the little facial tick (for lack of a better word) hasn't departed. It seems to go away for a couple of days and then it's BACK.
It's always during times of great concentration or thot -- Tink's an interesting dog. There's some pent-up energy there, but she's an expert at her own little work-arounds. Like at Give Kids the World -- when she knows she WANTS to jump up too much she'll simply lay down flat on the ground rather than just "sitting" to be petted cos SHE Knows she doesn't jump up from that position as easy. She's a smart little gal for a pug (we were NOT expecting a rocket scientist when we adopted a pug -- cute? yeah ... but I really wasn't expecting a dog pretty darned good at problem solving).
We've tried repeatedly to get a video and can't. She doesn't like pictures ANYWAY and this happens too fast. She gets too self-conscious if I try to set there with a camera and 'watch' her.
And .. I'm trying to watch this closely cos pugs ARE prone to seizures and this is a little toooooooooooo close to something like that.
SO ....
I called the TCVM vet and 'splained that it's still not gone, and is regularly occurring again ... so she's ordered a special herb blend for her that she wants her to take ONE BOTTLE of. This is not anything I've used before and she's specifically calling this "hypertension" -- so that leads me to question if we're gonna need to get her blood pressure taken. (that's not easy on a dog in case you've never done it!!).
so we'll get this stuff Tuesday hopefully and I'll update when I know something. A couple of people asked me specifically to "update" on this so I figured this was a good time to do that -- and I hadn't really "splained" it before anyway.
She's not feeling bad -- she's not overly active right now, but definitely not hurting. She turned 3 in February (which was just before we lost Billy) which is a milestone for a pug -- they DO settle a great deal but I don't want to mistake "settle" for "something's amiss".
Any anyway - it was abundantly clear last night when David er ... sorta ... kinda ... inadvertently (*raised eyebrow*) back-kicked Sucky Pony nearly into next week that Tinkerbell the Pug STILL knows how to give serious stink eye!! I wish I'd gotta picture of THAT! And she didn't even move her lips when she gave David heck for THAT one!!
Alltogether now "Pooooooooooooooooor Sucky Pon-neeeeeeeeeee"
(Did I mention said husband did actually live thru the ordeal even tho chastised by the pug for his rough handling of *her* favorite toy?)
