Ruby needs to be spayed??

 When we got Ruby we knew she wasn't spayed........we plan on getting her spayed. My question is should we do this right away or wait till she is more comfortable with us?

The longer you wait the more likely she will come into season, bleed all over everything, and attract the wrong sort of attention. I'd have scheduled it right when I brought her home...assuming she is otherwise, healthy. You have the rest of her life for her to get comfortable...hormones will only complicate things.

Gina is **absolutely** correct.  IN honesty?  The hormones of their season add extra angst which you can avoid by getting her spayed right away.  Take a bag of treats with you when you go to the vet so everyone there can oooh and ahh and "what a sweet girl" over her.  And then the "arrival" at the vet is linked to something superb.  Same thing when you pick her up -- bring an awesome treat (like a piece of steak would be great!) and trust me -- any nervousness will go away.
