    Pet Insurance

Hi everyone, I've decided to get pet insurance for my boys. My boys aren't sick and have not been diagnosed with any illness or anything. I feel more peace of mind if I have it for them in case of an emergency. A co-worker of mines just spent $5000 out of pocket for an emergency surgery on her dog out of the blue. And her dog is young and healthy too! Told me the dog hasn't been feeling well and throwing up a lot. So we all thought her dog must've eaten into something he wasn't suppose to or caught worms. So this has been going on, on & off several months and she finally decided to take her dog in. They did some fecal tests -- no worms. Did an xray, and found he has a bunch of human hair inside him. They did a surgery to remove the hair and also found like a small plastic ball inside as well. I've done a lot of reading and research on this and have narrowed it down to 2 companies -- Embrace and PetPlan Insurance. Are anyone of you with any of these companies? Do you like it? Which company is better? The plans I'm considering are more or less the same with both companies. Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!

I got coverage through Petplan after my dog need knee surgery - thankfully haven't used it yet but good to know we're covered.  A friend picked up coverage at the same time and she has used it - happy with the payouts and timeliness - did point out that your deductible is for each episode not for the year.  So if you used the coverage for 3 incidents you would have to pay out the deductible 3x
