canine vestibular disorder (or something similar) question

What do you think it might be? Still vestibular disorder that just hasn't gone away yet?:

I took my 13 year old (almost 14 year old) dog (a border collie) to the vet three and a half weeks ago because she was wobbly, tilting her head, peeing in the house, throwing up, had diarrhea, and her eyes were darting back and forth.  The vet diagnosed it as vestibular disorder and said we would see improvement if we gave it some time.  We did see a great improvement after about 2 weeks, but she still is walking a bit like she is drunk.  She isn't falling over anymore, but she keeps walking with one foot in front of the other and she sometimes stumbles.  Besides that, all of the other original symptoms are no longer present.  I have noticed her eating more of her food lately and her water bowl has been empty more often (we do have three cats and another dog, so I'm not totally sure she is the one drinking all of it).  Sometimes she seems confused and will stand in one place for a little bit before deciding what she wants to do, which is usually lay down.  When she lays down she does so slowly, and I suspect that is just arthritis, but I'm not completely sure.

     Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I'm not too familiar with this disease/disorder but just want to say I'll send some healing vibes his way!

Have they done all the necesary testing?  I've heard xrays or mri's can help answer lots of questions but I'd assume the secod is fairly pricey.  Is he on any meds?

You might want to try Cholodin.  One of the "age-related problems" (below) is canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS).

    http://www.entirelypets.com/cholodin.html
"Arthritis, joint pain, lameness, and other age-related problems may be linked to the reductions in the body's natural hyaluronan levels. Cholodin and Cholodin-Fel are now available as dietary supplements containing bioavailable hyaluronan."

I'm sorry I don't have a lot to offer for ideas/suggestions, but do want to offer sympathy and wishes for good health for your dog.  I wondered about the current meds, too, and if there have been any recent falls.  (ie, is it snowy/icy where you live and could an elderly unsteady dog have fallen down outside there?)

My best wishes to you and your dog.
