    my dogs cancer...?

    well about a year ago i adopted a stumpy tailed cattle dog from the humane society. well he has always panted really hard but i got worried and took him to the vet they took an x ray and he has a mass the size of 2 soft balls but hes only 2 i dont understand. if there is any information you can give me about how this could happen?

    I can't tell you the whys, but what does the vet suggest as a course of treatment.  You don't know at this point without at least a biopsy that it IS cancer??

    I believe that cancer cells feed on grains, so it would be important to go with a high quality grain free food.  And do follow up with the vet regarding treatment.

    well the vet says she has no guess of whats going on and i dont even have anuff money to think about paying for a biopsy

    Dogs of any age can get cancer -- however -- *where* was the mass?  Dogs can also swallow some pretty strange things.

    How far are you from your state's vet school -- sometimes a vet school can be way cheaper than you might think -- you deal with students but often the care is not expensive.  You might want to consider Care Credit as well.

     I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. In this economy, a lot of folks are having problems affording vet care for their pets. Have you considered working out a payment plan with your vet? It wouldn't hurt to ask them about it. I'll be keeping you and your pup in my thoughts;{{{hugs}}}
