I hate the fact everyone smokes inside but really there's nothing I can do about it.
I understand your difficulty. It never ceases to amaze me that smokers think that their right to be drug addicts is as important a right as the right of others to simply breathe. They think they have a right to make others sick so that they can avoid the effects of withdrawal or the inconvenience of going outside.
I have been excluded from many social events and even made sick at work events (migraines and asthma) by smokers.
Things are a lot better today than they used to be, but I am still angry about being excluded from so many social events. Before I can go to any restaurant or group event I have to first check to see if smoking will be permitted - if so, I can't go. Most no-smoking areas in restaurants/bars are a joke since they don't have separate ventilation areas.
And smokers wonder why their smoking makes me hostile. Once had a co-worker that I had known for several years say "I just realized something. Smoking is actually threatening to you." DUH??? Years of complaints had just penetrated.
