swelling???please help

Hi!I have a problem with my dog and I hope you could give me an advice.I discovered a hard swelling (it has the size of a fist) above his foot,on the ribs.I went to the vet,he made some tests and told me it isn't cancer,it is blood and fat and I should leave it this way.But now the swelling keeps growing and I don't know what to do.Sorry for my bad english.thank you very much

I think if the size is growing you need to take the dog BACK to the vet or even a DIFFERENT vet. It could be an abcess....and those need to be drained...or something similar.

Gina is right. I think I would call the first vet and if I didn't like the sounds of what s/he has to say find another, pronto.

I will agree with the others -- but usually a lipoma does not have blood in it so to be honest, I would likely tell you to just try a new vet. Anything that grows rapidly is just plain dangerous.

Can I ask where you may be located? I don't want to know your street address -- but if it's worrisome and you are anywhere near your state's vet school that can often be the best road of all -- particularly if you are unhappy with how the first vet handled it. A vet school can be WAY cheaper than you'd think if you aren't super far away.
