Dog Clothes...Cool or Cruel

I've heard of small dog owners putting pajamas on their dogs for bed,

LMAO, both of my dobes would be PISSED if I forgot to dress them for bed!  The dachshunds? Meh, not so much.

ETA:  I always thought that walking around with a dog in a stroller was ridiculous until I got to see a friend's papillion grabbed & shook by a larger dog while standing around an obedience ring.  Now, she rides in a stroller to prevent that from happening again.

As long as the clothes are necessary, I don't think they are cruel. Like say if they are cold inside or outside, it's cruel not to put it on, but if they are just fine, I think it's cruel.

More clothes than you do.  Heh heh.

I bet you're exaggerating, but it's a funny one.  Wink

In winter a sweater and even foot pad-shoes can be a real act of love.

Not sure if they are ever cruel, but they can sure be silly.

My friend Rob has Ali, the biggest pit bull I've ever known, and he was looking

very cool in his Florida Gator shirt this winter.

     Hi Guys & Gals,

I agree with that dressing dogs up can be a little too much.  And I am saying that where I help my Mum in her business which is a dog clothing company -**link removed by moderator**

The biggest seller we have is a sunsuit which is designed to help protect the dog from the sun and therefore reduce the chance of skin cancer.  Most purchasers come from the advice of Vets and after the dog has had a skin cancer chopped out.

Also, to BlackLabbie, I agree dogs need to be able to walk on all fours and socialize but lets say you take your dog out walking with you to a market or somewhere that gets busy and you have a little dog.  Most owners will pick up there dog and carry them around where if you had a purse of a puppy pouch you could carry your dog a lot more comfortably for both of you.

So dog clothes and pouches do have a practical use.
