If you were to choose a trainer.....

I too like Courteous Canine best because I feel that that is what most folks looking for a trainer want, a well behaved dog. Second would be Both Ends of the Leash. Anybody that has some knowledge of training might feel that this facility knows how to train the "whole" team. I would think this name would be attractive to those clients that might be interested in competing, or improving their training skills. Courteous Canine would appeal most to complete beginners, those people who have never tried to train their pet.

Sit Happens is just too campy!  My first feeling would be that the owner is a training newbie, perhaps with little experience. Modern Dog really doesn't tell me what your business is. Sounds like a canine clothing boutique perhaps? Canine Connection isn't bad, but I think "pet shop", or someplace that offers a number of services, not necessarily training.

Just my opinion. Hope it helps you some. Good Luck with your new business!

My favourites are Courteous Canine (it tells people what you want to create -- a dog who has good manners), Canine Connection (I would assume this deals with connecting with your dog, which is a good thing in my book) and Both Ends of the Leash (which I may like the best, partially because it implies that training is not only about the dog, but also because it makes me think of Patricia McConnell who has a book called The Other End of the Leash and who, I think, has a column in The Bark magazine called Both Ends of the Leash).

Not a fan of Sit Happens -- partially because of the obvious pun there, but also because it smacks of force-based training to me (like the place called Sit Means Sit or the like).

That was exactly my take - boutique or dog food store.

Sit Happens really is over-used, and it reminds me of Sit Means Sit.

I really prefer Courteus Canine the best, but I can see there are at least 8 varitions of it already in use.  Ptuey.  Courteous Canine Academy?   Courteous Canine of Canada?

Cutesy stuff like "Paws/z" or "Pooches/z" or "Mutts/z" in a name really turns me off.  I think acronyms help with multiple word names, so that's something to consider if you decide to add words into your business name.

I like Canine Connections the best. I like Sit Happens the least. It's great pun on words, but might be a turn off to some people. I think Courteous Canine is also really good.

There is a "Sit Happens" here in Calgary. We took our doberman there for puppy classes.

     I like Courteous Canine.
