I love Windows 8 and can't even understand why people hate it - 8.1 is even faster. I use Office 2013 with it and it blows everything else away. So there. My work laptop was XP and I thought I would sling it through a wall. Then they upgraded to Win7 and it is still so freaking clunky compared to Win8. We use Office 2007 at work and seriously - if you have used 8 and 2013 trying to use 7 and 2007 makes you want to cry.............regularly.

I have been using the Windows platform since 94 I think, never had a virus or any major issue. I love Office. *feeling like a freak* lol

I like it so much I am going to buy a Windows tablet! iPads in particular are totally just for messing around, convenient for email and facebook after that??????????????

    Doodlefish :) Love it

Doug I am so freaking jealous of you having a puppy. I want a puppy badly. However, first I had best whittle my work week down to about 40 hrs.

Today I woke up and saw on FB (on my iPad) that a pointer that had been found  - emaciated and tied up behind a gas station - hadn't made it through the night even though he'd gone straight to vet care. I cried. This was at 5:22 am.

Then I had a brief break at lunch and saw two gsps in horrific condition stuck in a shelter in OK. They were also emaciated and messed up. I cried.

When I got home my husband told me about some couple in Alabama (I think) that hung a puppy and posted photos on FB.

Today is one of those days I want to remove all the rescues from my feed. I know it is just putting my head in the sand but I guess today that would have been best.

I did volunteer to do a home visit for a pointer organization that isn't too far from here (60 miles or so) Never did one but gosh, these poor dogsrescues need all they can get

Karen, I saw that story about the wackos who hung their puppy and put it on FB.  What was even more horrifying was how the owners seemed to think it was no big deal when they got flack on FB!  With that and the other stories you mentioned, I'd have been in tears today, too.

Doug, thanks for the puppy update!  Boy, housebreaking is no fun any time of year, but frequent potty breaks in that winter climate --- yikes!

Julie, I used to have lunch walking partners in my previous jobs, but not anymore.  It is great to have outdoor breaks, especially for those drowsy mid-afternoon slumps!
