A family in Columbus Georgia has decided to help a dog have the happiest life possible, despite his recent cancer diagnosis.

Chester, pictured below, is a happy little dog who likes to live every day like someone left the gate open. By looking at him and his loving family, he looks like a regular dog. Something that you cannot observe from his smile is that Chester is dying.

Thanks to Nicole Elliott and her family, the rest of Chester's life is going to be filled with smiles. Elliott decided to bring little Chester home from the non profit, Animal Ark who had rescued him from a local high kill shelter.

After seeing him she knew she needed to take him home. Even though he wasn't in the best shape, the family instantly fell in the love with him and decided to make the remainder of his life the best possible.

Shortly after adopting Chester, Elliott created the Facebook page Chester's Final Journey to chronicle all of the adventures that Chester has had with his new family.

And his adventures are growing by the day! Chester has enjoyed hot dogs, oatmeal baths, LOTS of hugs and a wonderful birthday celebration.

The DOG.community hopes that Chester continues make people smile and live a wonderful life with the Elliott's!
