where do you like to walk with your dog?

Where is your favorite place to walk your dog?

Any place that has woods and trails. I don't like to stick to the same place all the time so I rotate around through the different parks in the area.

Same here. There are a few trails around the area I like to walk Rupert on, or he runs while we mountain bike. He gets so much more exercise being off-leash.

If I'm low on time, or don't feel like driving into town, I'll walk him around our neighborhood. If it's really cold, he'd rather snuggle up under a blankie on the couch. Smile

I love to take them to the dog park where we can hike through the trails and they can run free.  I love seeing all the different kinds of dogs there too, and Tess & Cole love to play with them.

Out on the mesa near our house. There are miles and miles of open spaces with no roads, and no houses and they can run free.

In winter, dogs are allowed on the beaches here, so we do a lot of that on the less windy days.  Otherwise, there are lots of trails, a reservation, and two state parks within five miles.

Same here.  The beach is fun when temps are bearable and its not super windy.  We have several state parks right near our house and a very cool cranberry bog nearby as well that's a popular spot for dogs.

I don't mind walking my dog around the neighborhood, so that way should she ever, and I hope never, but should she take off, hopefully she'd find her way back.  But I mostly enjoy walking her in our nearby park.  It has a flatter surface to walk, if I want to stick to a flat surface, but it has a trail thru a woodsy, park like setting, which is also nice.  But, my all time favorite is taking her down to the boat and just allowing her to run around with the other dogs.  She loves it there too, so it makes us all happy!

My favorite is this park called USS Bullhead park here in albuquerque, it is so cool because it has huuuuuge and steep hills everywhere, it gives me and the dog a good cardio workout. After walking around the park there he's ready to sleep for a long long time. lol. Unfortunantly it's on the opposite end of town so can't get there very often.

We live out so there is a lot of open area where we live, so for convenience sake, this is where we walk most often.  I also take them to a park that is not too awfully far away.  It is more wooded and has trails.  I usually do this when I don't have to go to work.  There is another park further away that we have been to.  It has a dog park and they like to go there also.  It is just a quite a bit further away, though.  I take them on vacation with me to the mountains and go hiking on all of the trails.  This is by far their favorite and mine also.

I live in a lovely planned community on a lake with miles and miles of paved trails.  That's our usual trek, out along the lake, checking out the ducks and geese.  A local park nearby has loads of dirt paths through the woods along a pond, that's a favorite too.

The beach is my dogs most favourite place to go,we try and go at least 3-4 times a week,we'de go more if it were not for the 40 minute drive! I like to take them through wooded trails or pretty much anywhere where we dont encounter annoying bicycle riders and they can run off lead.We never do road walks or strolls around the neighborhood,or anywhere where they have to be on lead.

In the morning, for our first walk, we go to the fields, the second walk is in the forest and the third in a nearby park. And for the weekends we go into the mountains and we love that long walks the most.

I take Bubblegum thru the neighbor hood every day....well....... everyday that its not raining or too cold. She doesn't even want to walk in the cold weather even though she has a coat that I put on her.  I walk her thru the neighborhood so she sees people and kids and other dogs on a regular basis...but isn't really involved with them. She is NOT dog park material even though I was on the comittee to build it in our city.   We let her run behind a small shopping ctr in my neighbor hood.... during a time that no cars will be driving thru...but DH is at one end and I at the other.  That way she gets to run a little.     We have a lot of small parks in our city.... but dogs are not allowed to be in them with a leash.

Usually, our walks are just around the neighborhood. When I have time - I like to take him around the pond at the dog park - peaceful, nice. There are a few wooded parks around me that I would like to check out one day - Casey loves to find the wildlife.... such a terrier....

I also love taking him to the dog beach - but it's a bit expensive to get in (the free one is too far....) so we don't go often.
