Do you put dress up your dog?

Trinket, my 5yr old Yorkie is just TOO darned cute NOT to dress her up in some way.  She has a dress or two and some very nice sweaters and jackets.  Yorkies don't have the traditional undercoats.

Winston, my 10yr old Tzu is equally stunning in his Duffle Coat as in his Rugby shirt.  WHAT A LOOKER!

Toby, my 12yr old Yorkie does the Fred MacMurry cardigans.... the ones with the elbow patches.  Very distinguished!

Pippin, my 4mo old Pom is still into T's and jeans.... KIDS!!!

The only things I put on my dogs are to keep them warm in these cold canadian winters and  when we are outside for long periods of time.  The coats I use look like winter horse blankets.  Nylon shell and polar fleece on the inside.

I have several terrycloth coats (they look like fitted horse coolers) used for keeping the dogs cool (wet them) when competing in agility.  I also have a mess coat for the same reasons.

I also take the coats and sometimes use them when out hunting with the dogs,  the dogs can get very over heated during the summer with working in the earth and during winter they can get very cold waiting topside while another dog works the earth etc.

My Bob is old enough to dress himself, and he chooses not to. He likes playing outside in his birthday suit. Clothes are great for weather protection and similar purposes. As far as all the fancy stuff--I think we should let the dogs decide.

I think dressing up dogs is just SOOO cute. I love it. I don't understand why people are so down on it... though I guess it could have some issues to do with the dog's behaviour? What do you think? Regardless though, I can't resist... they just look adorable! hehe.

I know many others feel differently which is fine, but I don't care for dressing up dogs (excluding cold weather reasons). I just prefer to let my dogs be dogs. Stick out tongue
