I hate this part of my job...

One of my favorite daycare doggies passed away over the weekend - he'd been coming 2x a week for over two years. All of the staff is so, so sad that we lost one of 'our' doggies.

It's especially hard for me, since the dog passed away from thrombocytopenia, a similar immune disorder to what Pirate had. I feel so, so sorry for his mom. I know how quickly this immune stuff can hit.

I want to respect his family's privacy, so I won't post his name, but please say a prayer for one of my favorite doggies and his family. I know he's got a great crew waiting to greet him at the Bridge and I can only hope he'll be there to meet me.

I'm sorry.

I know the feeling- they feel like they're yours, you get so close to them.

As a trainer, I can so sympathize with you, and the family that lost their dog. Even though it's nice that my clients stay with me and train multiple dogs here, and I enjoy knowing that they have opened their hearts and homes to new dogs instead of remaining dog-less, it's always hard for them to tell me about losing a dog, and it's always hard for me to hear it. I truly love many of the dogs that come here, and it's just like losing one of your own when they go:-(

Aw, I'm really sorry to hear that. Yeah....to close for comfort for you, I'm sure.

Oh Megan, I'm so sorry, too. All my best thots and prayers - it DOES happen so darned fast. Tell them about this place and Rainbow Bridge if you can. We're here with open arms if they need the company of folks who understand.
