Hero is gone

• Hero is gone rwbeagles Posted : 6/18/2007 1:49:32 PM Thank you all for thinking, caring, wishing, hoping, praying, for my little boy. Hero is gone, he could not fight anymore, and the vet was going to put him down this afternoon...but Hero chose to go on his own. The vet, a 60-something year old man and longtime breeder....was crying when he told me this...that means a lot to me...Hero was among people who, tho they knew him only a short time, felt very deeply about him when he passed.   I am needless to say, devastated, even tho a part of me felt this would be the outcome...   I will not be seeing those sweet brown eyes, and two tone ears again except in my dreams, and in the many pics and videos I have of him (I am so grateful I have those...please take more pics/video than you do already of your pets....no such thing as too many). In his short life I think he accomplished a lot of what Beagles consider their life's work...to make people smile, laugh, and feel that special warmth inside that only a Beagle can bring.   Dogs don't really have a donor program the way people do...but I want Hero's passing to help other hounds, all the same. It would mean so much to me...if we could all make a small contribution, even just $5, in Hero's name...to this rescue. I think it would be a great way to show how Hero touched the many people he only "knew" thru photos and video...and I feel it would be a fitting tribute to him...
