Sebastian 1992-2007

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Sebastian 1992-2007

I thought I would post some of my last pictures of Sebastian.  He passed away from jawbone cancer and kidney failure.  Sebastian was king of the house, he kept Freddy in line, and did whatever he pleased.  He loved to rush the front door and had hundreds of failed escape attempts.  He was so much fun and the house seem quiet without him.

Sorry for your loss of a wonderful companion. May all his memories be cherished by his loving human family.

God speed Sebastian you've earned your wings.

How sad......but he is in a better place now.

    Such a beautiful cat.

I'm so sorry about Sebastian.  He was a gorgeous kitty.  In the last shot he looks perplexed as to why you're on DOG.com & not a cat site.  Run free, Sebastian.  I'm sure that Bebe will show you all the sunny spots.  [sm=angel.gif]

Nic, I am so sorry about Sebastian.
I've been reading an awful lot about cats and dogs getting more and more oral cancers, is there anything we can do as far as early detection? I know it's tough to get into their mouth, and other than when they are getting a dental the vet never really checks the whole mouth either.

I don't know what they can do about early detection.  He had bloodwork, a cleaning and an extraction eight weeks earlier.  His face just got really swollen and drooly.  The cancer did show up on an xray but the treatment options (removing the jaw) were too harsh for his age.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Its hard to loose an animal that you have had for so long. They are such a major part of our lives.

Very, very sorry, Nic, for the loss of your very handsome cat.  You said he was king of the house (and rightly so, I'm sure he'd say) and he had a very regal bearing, indeed.

Love the photo of him in the bin on the stove top - makes me think of my beloved Franklin, who spent time naping on a towel on the griddle center of my gas stove soaking up the warmth.

Be at peace, Sebastian. Wishing you and Freddy and all who miss Sebastian comfort.

So sorry for your loss of Sebastian.  He was handsome!!!  I totally understand how the 'sound' of the house changes when you lose a furbaby.  Hoping you and Freddy are doing well....

Run free Sebastian... [sm=angel.gif]  Watch over your family!
