Dancer

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

I am sorry for your loss, I know you were celebrating her turning 16 and a half. At least you have the comfort of knowing you gave her the best life a dog could ask for. To get to 16, she must have had a caring and loving owner.

Okay, I can type now... Anne, my heart goes out to you & your BF.  Nothing can fill that void that Miss Dancer's crossing has created.  I don't know what else to say but Romp free, Dancer!  [sm=angel.gif]

And waiting at the bottom of Rainbow Bridge was a little Mostlie Sheltie, tap dancing back and forth because HE KNEW his friend was coming.  He was a bit nervous because ... well, after all, this WAS Dancer ... an I-Dog buddy and a therapy dog and ... well, somebuddy who also knew all abouts communikatin.  But altho he knew she had lots of friends up there, he wanted to ... well, see her first, cos ... well he's a Mostlie Sheltie and ... it .... it .... IT'S HIS JOB!!!!  He knew she'd understand why he raced over Rainbow Bridge when HE got there.  He knew she'd understand why it was so easy for him ta talk to his Mom and he also knew SHE would know all about how everbuddy was.

Whether the Mostlie Sheltie was first ... or not ... he was part of Dancer's welcoming committee.  I can guarantee that, Anne.

There's an empty place in your heart tonight that is just her size.  For tonight that hole is sore.  But that hole will fill in a bit with wonderful, warm, happy memories.  It will fill in with thoughts that she doesn't have to be 'carried' any more ... she moves with the wind.  And her heart is glad to be free.

My heart is with you tonight -- I'm here, any time.  I will help you mark this passing -- your heart feel sore tonight, but I know how very rich you feel to have known her.  She accomplished much and truly went with no shame, and I hope pride in a life very very well lived.  And a life that changed yours in so very many ways.  And added so very much to yours.  And loved you so very much.  *gentle hugs*

I said goodbye to Dancer on the other thread, but want to let you know I am STILL thinking about your gallant girl.  Dancer, you will be missed forever.

Oh no. She had a very lovely dinner just days ago. Oh, poor baby.

My heart has broken some tonight for you all. That was a very long relationship and it's so hard to not have your "heart" with you day in and day out. So hard. I am so sorry.

Goodbye Dancer--keep a good strong watch and enjoy yourself.

Dess's breeder told me that my tears were a tribute to life and demonstration of the bond you have.  So show your tears and I hope those tears are soon matched with smiles for all the joy she brought to your lives.

I am SO very sorry!!! Sending lots of love and healing your way

Anne, I cry as I type this.
I am so very sorry that your heart is breaking. You have given Dancer the best possible life a furbaby could have had and in turn she has blessed your soul with knowing what true love is.
I am certain that Miss Penny was standing right beside the Mostlie Sheltie waiting for their most loyal friend to arrive and when she did, they went running through the meadow introducing her to all of her other friends.
I pray that you find peace in your heart and that God gives you sweet dreams of Miss Dancer.
    (((biggest Hugs)))

Thanks.  Lena, I am quite sure that Dancer will introduce Miss Penny to her old friend Bub, too.  After all, she's still the best barn dog that ever breathed air.  Tell Penny not to be afraid, that horse likes dogs...

Anne, again, I am so very saddened by this.  Something about losing the ones who have been with us for so many years, through the ups and downs, is especially difficult.  She was your faithful companion and you hers.  My heart goes out to you.

Run free, Miss Dancer.  Say hello to Shari for me.

I'm so sorry.  You were lucky to have 16 1/2 years. I only imagine the love,,and the pain you have.  Holly has a new friend now !!
