Sweet Leapin Lola will leave soon

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Sweet Leapin Lola will leave soon

My heart is heavy with grief this morning at the news of Leapin Lola, a retired Grayhound that is in the end stages of Kidney failure. Her owner will be helping her cross over to the Rainbow Bridge soon.

The distance is too far for me to say my last good byes to her or to offer a lending hand and shoulder to cry on. I am mentally sending Lola my love and happy trails to the RB with tears streaking down my face as I type this thread.

My heart is really broken over the news. I am blue and feeling the pain just as if she were one of mine.

Go in peace my sweet Leapin Lola, you gave me so much joy when I took care of you. Forever you will have a special place in my heart and you have taken a piece of my heart with you when you do go. Give my love to my kids at the Rainbow Bridge, tell them I love and miss them. They will take care of you and show you around.

Run free my sweet soul Leapin Lola. Aunty A will always cherrish the time she had with you here on earth. Your job is done my friend. Go in peace and be healthy again.

I'm so sorry to hear about Lola.  I know how much it makes your heart hurt to NOT be able to say goodbye to a treasured friend when the time comes.  We've had 3 "dog friends" go to the Bridge this year, as well as a bird, and I didn't get to say goodbye to any of them due to the distance or sudden timing of their deaths.  Not saying goodbye actually makes me feel more heartbroken than just their deaths do.  I just wanted to hug them one more time and tell them how blessed I was to have known them, and of course to ask them to bring my love and hugs to Tonka when they see him at the Bridge.

Run free Lola, leap high!  Aunty A will miss you.  [sm=angel.gif]
