I completely understand how you feel and you're right, it does help to write down how you feel and share it with those who understand.  It's such a terrible time, these early days, after a loss.  I think you'll know when it's time to get another dog and in the meantime, Fargo's there for you to love and teach.

I'm so sad to hear about Alaska & Jake.  Run free kids!  I completely understand how you're feeling.  Last year was my year of losses.  Not only 2 of my dogs but many i-doggers lost their friends as well.  We all understand & grieve with you.

I'm sad to hear this, too.  I lost two of my dogs last year, and while Fergie had a great run - she was over 20 when she died - I really expected Maska to live longer, but found that cancer doesn't care how much you love your dog or how much money you are willing to spend to save him...

I do know that my dogs will find me again someday, and while the story is too long for me to tell here, believe me the reason I believe that is extremely powerful.  When you see a hawk flying in the sky, let it remind you that I do have a story, and it is real - hopefully, that will be enough to let you know that Alaska and Jake are safe where they are and that you will meet again.
