Run free, Kaiser...

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

You both fought the good fight for a long time and only your wonderful care of him gave him so much more time in comfort and happiness.Your letting him go today was the ultimate act of love because you did it for him, not for you.

Exactly.  Megan,  I'm so sorry for the ache in your heart and the absence in your daily life that will only seem worse before it seems better.  Don't beat yourself up - Kaiser knew you gave him your love and tremendous effort to help him live a life he could enjoy.  You knew when that was no longer possible.

Rest in peace, beloved Kaiser.  You will not be forgotten.

    (((Megan)))

I am so sorry. I saw the title of this message and just couldn't believe it. I don't follow things on here all of the time and hadn't seen all about Kaiser's illness. These decisions never are easy but we know, that when we make them, we make them out of love and to allow our pets, our friends, to be free of their suffering. My Sympathies go out to you. Maureen

I'm so sorry for your loss, I feel so lucky I got to know Kaiser through these forums. He was such a trooper through these difficult times, and I know he's at peace now, and so thankful that he had such a loving and caring mom. Run free Kaiser.

Thank you so much everyone. It has been a very rough day. I actually had to go to work...but I'm glad I did. My co workers have been so great- they've cried with me, hugged me, bought me dinner, and really helped me feel better. Between all my friends on the forum, and outside the forum, I have an overwhelming amount of support.
I have a feeling I'm going to be teary for a few more days, but I've already started to feel a bit better. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I really cannot express how much all your caring means to me.

I have been a member of this forum since Kaiser was very young...it makes me happy how many of you cared about him.

Oh gosh Megan, I'm just now seeing this and my heart is breaking for you. I know you did everything you could and you'd have continued to try if you'd have thought it would help. It's so hard to let them go, even when we know it's the right thing to do. I'm so sorry you had to face this but glad that you're surrounded with support.

Run free Kaiser. We'll all miss you Broken Heart

So very sorry. Kaiser was a very well loved dog, and I know that he knew it. He had a wonderful, full life with you - when it's time, it's time. Thinking of you.
