We'll see you someday, Maggie

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    We'll see you someday, Maggie

Maggie was my best friends dog. She was put down today after a long struggle with aggressiveness and attacking other animals. My friend has been dealing with this for a year with help from her vetrinarian. She unfortunatly attacked my friends kitten and hurt her severly (she is in the care of the vet). Maggie was a pretty good friend to Lily but did attack her twice. We'll all miss Maggie and my heart goes out to my friend. Lily will miss Maggie I'm sure.

We'll see you again Maggie and when we do, I know you'll be a much happier girl. Although you had your issues, you were a beautiful dog and a great companion to your mom. It wasn't an easy decision to put you to rest but you will live on in spirit.

Poor girl. At least her demons are quite now. Run free and be happy, Maggie!

I'm glad your friend has a *good* friend to help and comfort her -- Maggie, things are better now, aren't they hon?  "free" for Maggie truly means freedom, bless her heart.

She honestly was a good girl minus the aggession. Lily and Maggie played well quite a few times. Even though Maggie wasn't so nice to her once in a while, Lily being the sweet girl that she is would forgive her and just want to play and play. I really will miss her.

Good news is that the kitten is home now and finally eating & drinking on her own! That really made my friends day. She sounded a little happier this morning Big Smile

I'm so sorry your friend had to face this decision.  Run free, Maggie!

Run freeeeeeee, sweet Maggie.  There are no more demons haunting you.  Be happy & playful.  I'm sure there's a GSD mix there who'd love to play with you.  Be at peace!

My condolences to your friend (and to you) on the loss of Maggie.  Having to make a decision under those circumstances is something I can't even imagine enduring - it must've been heartbreaking.  My husband worked with a guy who had a beautiful dog who was 100% well behaved and affectionate with him and his wife, but despite every effort at special training, medications, etc., she continued to attack other animals and bit a couple of visitors to their home.  They eventually made the same decision your friend made, and it nearly did them in.  I'm glad the kitty is doing well, and I hope your friend is okay.  I'm sure it'll be a long while before her heart feels a little less heavy.

I'm sorry for the loss of Lily's good friend.  These stories always make me pause because I could very, very easily have ended up in a situation like this with Willow.

    Be at peace, Maggie.
