Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    As some of you may already know, yesterday we received the news that the 4 month old puppy we were rescuing passed away in the shelter. They aren't sure whether it was a virus or a reaction to vaccines. We hadn't met her yet, but still felt like she was ours already. The worst thing id knowing she died in a shelter, after her family abandoned her, and she didn't even know that someone had adopted her and wanted to love her for the rest of her life. May she run free, and never know the loneliness of a shelter again!!!

    Oh my, I am so sorry!  Just saw your post.  My heart hurts and tears  are in my eyes.  Run free  Quinn, go find Jethro and he will show you the way and tell you how much your family loved you already.

    Oh, what a shame.  ARRRHHGG, these damn vaccines, ugh, it just makes me so mad that they don't alter these protocols.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

     Oh my word she was beautiful.... the poor girl.  That's the saddest story.  I love how her tail is all kinda blurred in that pic, and I love her spotty feet.  Crying

    Don't be averse to opening your home and heart to another shelter dog.

    Poor Baby! She was gorgeous. She does know she was loved!

    Run Free Little One, Go find Buster up there, he has toys and a bed I bet he'd share with you!!

    I am the scientific type, not prone to going to churches or participating in organized religions. But, you're going to have to trust me on this one. She is at the Bridge and she knows that you were ready for her. And she will be ready for you when it is your time to shuffle off the mortal coil.

    Run free, Kira. You were and are still loved. Meanwhile, catalog all the scents so that you can show us them, later.
