Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Buddy is a dog of our friends. Buddy was a 4 year old German Shepherd/ Wolf cross mix that died yesterday. Family - Dad - Mom and two young children who loved Buddy so dearly. Buddy died doing what he loved the most herding. But he just fell over and was dead. Reason ?

    I am sending prayers to the family.

    Buddy I know your life was cut short but I will alway have you in my memories and in my heart.

    Usually when they are struck down mid-stride like that it's the heart.  Unfortunate .. but oh my, there are so many things to 'herd' up at that Bridge.

    so sorry for the loss I just lost Princess I believe it was her heart as well it's very sad

    Hey Buddy, I know of a pretty girl GSD mix who would love to herd things with you @ the Bridge.

    I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy.  My husband had a co-worker whose dog died very suddenly while playing with the children in the yard one morning.  Fairly young and in good health - heart attack was the assumed reason.  I don't know what's worse:  losing a beloved pet unexpectedly or losing one after a long illness or long decline.  On the one hand, they don't suffer, but one doesn't have the chance to prepare or say goodbye.  On the other hand, an illness or old-age decline can involve suffering (which is awful for both animal and human).  Either way, the loss is painful and heartbreaking, and I'm sure Buddy's family are devastated.  Again, I'm so sorry.  Run free, Buddy!

    Awww!  Poor Buddy!  Poor Family!  Prayers to both!  Such a beautiful dog!
